I always say I am going to do things- and never do them.
This year I have made a few goals- goals sounds like a much better word to me.
One of the things is to write and post on here every day something i make, or things i find that i wanna share with someone.
I wanted to start this on , you guessed it, Jan 1st lol but life just sucks lately.
So today im sharing one of my goals- which was to get out of my comfort zone and push myself craft wise. In other words sew the damn patterns i have been hoarding since 2002 lol. So i am. And finding new ones to hoard as i go.
Free patterns are the best. I couldnt find one for a wallet i wanted so i gave in and purchased one on etsy. The wallet is great- the person that wrote the pattern, not so great. sorry not sorry. It was not wrote well and I had to muddle through it to figure things out. But i did. ( I wont publicly list the shop etc if you can find it then good on you)
I used some of my stash of mickey fabric to make the tester. I am going to be making another in Harry Potter fabric for my bestie then i will be selling them. Its how i pay my bills now. Stay at home workaholic slave labor moms dont pay much. Unless you count the change in the dryer ( or the random hot sauce packet from taco bell that says im pretty)
This pattern was under 6.00
I found another one im going to give a go thats a bit more ( i am cheap and hate to pay for stuff)
If you have a good wallet pattern let me know.
And then there is this purse pattern. That i am IN love with. I have made like 8 so far and sold all but one. Its a free pattern called the Ethel tote from Swoon Patterns. SO if you are like to make bags or even if you are a beginning seamstress then this is a great starter pattern for you. You do need to be able to sew through several layers of foam and fabric. My machine can handle it and its nothing fancy.
Tip- BUY THE BETTER FOAM. Seriously. Its expensive but your sanity is worth it. What the bag calls for use it. I made that mistake
Photo of my first wallet- and my second coming soon. My computer is being a pain. I have also broke down and purchased the other pattern. And a diaper bag pattern that will also make an appearance soon.
- Stay Crafty-
Stephanie
